On September 5th & 6th Lisa Simpson inhabited SiteFactory with her itinerant Sewing Station: Agente Costura. In Portuguese, Agente Costura has a triple entendre, loosely translated into we are a sewing agent. During this event, SiteFactory became a textile performative installation, as the artist used a musical sewing machine to create sculptural garments out of second hand clothing, emphasizing the process rather than the finished product. With this act, Lisa questions contemporary consumption habits, providing new alternatives for how to dress. The installation also functioned as an open space inviting the audience to try hands on how they can remake their wardrobes with needle and thread; the audience was invited to bring along their clothing in need of new life. A small selection of Lisa's sculptural garments made in Berlin were also included in the exhibition.
